You always need to be careful of the rise of your trousers – that’s the bit that goes from your crotch to your waist. If it’s unflattering like the rise of these jeans (on the left) on Rihanna, it draws attention to the crotch, and for most of us, this is probably the place we’d like the focus of our clothing to be.

The jeans on the right are better, yes when you walk you’ll get some creasing, but when you are standing straight on to a mirror, the front of the trousers/jeans should sit flat with no pulls or horizontal lines.
